Apply to receive support for your project and be part of an ecosystem of urban innovation.
Visitors Program: Urban Scholars and Leading Urban Practitioners
The Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation at the University of Chicago offers opportunities for visiting scholars and leading urban practitioners to contribute to the institute’s mission of advancing urban scholarship and developing solutions to complex urban challenges. Successful applicants will be chosen from nominations received from current faculty, staff, and partners. We encourage nomination of individuals from diverse fields and perspectives.
Postdoctoral Fellowship
Mansueto Institute Postdoctoral Fellows are postdoctoral researchers from a variety of disciplines and perspectives who are interested in building a scholarly understanding of cities. The fellowships are full-time, year-long appointments that can be renewed for a second year, subject to a mutual agreement. Positions are structured between the Mansueto Institute and one of the University of Chicago’s Departments or Schools.
Speaking
The Mansueto Institute hosts regular events, including a colloquium series over our academic year, drawing an audience across the University of Chicago campus, and from the community. Please get in touch if you are an academic or practitioner working on an issue impacting cities, and are interested in speaking at an event or would like to learn more.
Collaboration
Learn more about how to collaborate with faculty across campus on critical issues impacting cities by visiting our Urban Faculty Directory and joining the UChicago Urban Faculty Listserv, an email list of faculty at the University of Chicago who conduct urban research, moderated by the Mansueto Institute. Use this listserv to share opportunities and news, and to connect with colleagues who are doing work that is of mutual interest.
