Stephanie Zimmermann

Stephanie Zimmermann is the consumer investigations reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times/Chicago Public Media. She focuses on consumer issues, defined broadly to include credit and debt, insurance, food, healthcare, housing, transportation, technology, unsafe products, scams/frauds and other issues that affect everyday people. Stephanie’s experience includes reporting and editing at daily newspapers in Illinois and Florida as well as reporting and producing for network television. Her reporting has been recognized with numerous local and national awards, including National Headliner Award for business reporting in 2021 and a 2024 first-place award from the Society for Features Journalism. Stephanie earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is a longtime member of Investigative Reporters and Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists.
