Assistant Professor of Economics at Loyola Marymount University
Robert French is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Loyola Marymount University. As an applied urban and public economist, he researches the consequences of urban sorting on spatial inequality, housing affordability, and the welfare of low-income households. His ongoing research combines large-scale administrative data from the US Census Bureau with economic theory to understand the consequences of gentrification for incumbent residents in gentrifying neighborhoods. Robert graduated with a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University and received a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto.
