Jacob Herbstman

Harris School of Public Policy

Jacob Herbstman is a PhD student at the Harris School of Public Policy. His research interests are in the fields of urban, public, and health economics. As a Mansueto Urban Doctoral Fellow, he will investigate how the aldermanic privilege system in Chicago shapes the distribution of new development and economic activity in the city. Jacob holds a B.A. in economics and statistics from the University of California, Davis. Before coming to the University of Chicago, he worked as a research assistant on the macroeconomics team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
